My grandfather came to our country from Scotland in the early 1900's, and established a photography studio - fondly named "Inverurie" in the town of Lynbrook, New York. Generations away - to me....the baton is passed along. Still photography...Who says so? Who says you can't be moved by a picture that brings you into the heart of the action? This is an art that has to engage it's viewers. As in a symphony....you have to hear the entire piece, the violins, the cellos, the piano; every section of the orchestra....right down to the triangle - to fully absorb the experience. If you want pictures that have 100 layers to make them right, look elsewhere. If you want purity, pull up a chair....... Make a movie with your photos! That is exactly what I strive to do. Motion, life, movement. On clients: Every human being - from the person wanting a very special portrait...to an actor working on a movie in the full swing of filming - is treated with the same respect and courtesy. I am a firm believer that celebrities are entitled to their privacy. Popping flashbulbs off in another being's face is not only rude, and invasive....but, downright Neanderthal. Simply put: I don't intrude. Seek me, and ye shall find. Now, grab a cup of java, and enjoy. Kathy Baca |
